~ YOGA THAT FITS YOU ~
About Us
Q Wellness is an online yoga studio teaching "clunky yoga for creaky bodies" because Sonya identified a need for yoga that was easily accessible by bodies of all shapes, sizes, and abilities, especially the over-40 folks with injuries, in the convenience of your home. We opened our doors as a virtual yoga studio for live, online, interactive, group classes in 2020, in response to the requests from private clients who had benefitted from our accessible, adaptive, video platform, yoga biomechanics sessions since 2017.
Our goal is to show you how your body benefits from a yoga practice, how yoga can make your life better. We specialize in giving people with physical body limitations the mindful movements for mobility, strength, balance, and endurance for the enjoyment and longevity of whole-hearted living as we age. We help you be your best self.
~ YOGA THAT FITS YOUR LIFE ~
Our Philosophy
We believe yoga classes are meant to be accessible in all aspects, of getting to the studio, getting to class, getting into the poses, getting into your wallet. If the yoga practice doesn’t fit you, and your lifestyle, it won’t help you.
All our live classes are offered to you as a pay-what-you-can honor system. We want you to attend the asana practice while supporting your budget, which is living in alignment, which is alignment-based yoga, which is what we teach. Our on-demand library of recorded classes is structured to be as economical as possible.
The practice of yoga is more than only the asana, the physical body movement. Yoga practice encompasses moral ethics (yamas, and niyamas), breathwork (pranayama), mindfulness (pratyahara and dharana), and meditation (dhyana). We invite you to try it with us.
Our Class Options
We currently offer 4 weekly, 60-minute, live, group classes in the community-based premise of accessible yoga, using an honor system of pay-what-you-can. We specialize in adaptive classes in the convenience of your home space to help you heal your body, decrease chronic pain, improve your strength, build your balance, and increase mobility for functional fitness.
We provide Chair Yoga and Gentle Hatha Yoga classes in live session and on-demand videos.

The QW Crew
Meet Sonya
My quixotic approach to life blends functional, practicality with playful, light-heartedness. I began practicing yoga over 25 years ago, as rehabilitative therapeutic movement for major injuries. I became a teacher in 2008, using online format since 2015 from a lineage of alignment-based, mindful movement, focused on adaptive, accessible yoga for all bodies, particularly those with hesitations. I am a highly experienced, certified yoga teacher, with hundreds of hours of yoga trainings. I use biomechanics to work with people one-on-one to improve strength, increase mobility, and reduce chronic pain. As a professional life coach and wellness consultant, I specialize in resilience training. My classes use laughter and curiosity to explore the possibilities.

My passion is to help you feel wonderful in your body! I specialize in chair yoga and slow flow hatha yoga which allows you time and patience to feel what's going on inside the incredible vessel that is your body. My quirky style of teaching offers cues, variations, and space to never take yourself too seriously. My classes offer just enough challenge to help you grow and expand your physical and mental boundaries, with opportunities to laugh and contemplate this weird, wonderful life (and body) we sometimes take for granted. I hold a 500-hour yoga teacher training certification with over 1600 hours of teaching experience. I love working with beginner and regular practitioners alike, whatever your shape, size, or ability to show up to your practice.
Meet Joni
I believe in the “quan” – the sum of love, respect, and community - okay so this was borrowed from the movie Jerry McGuire, but it definitely embraces my “Q”! I sought yoga as a way to complement triathlon training many years ago - and embarked on yoga teacher training in 2015. Teaching students who are new to yoga reminds me again and again the possibilities of yoga for everyone: learning something new about your body, mind, and spirit each time you come to the practice. I am a certified 500 hour-trained teacher and I’m always seeking to grow while in the studio whether in the seat of the teacher or as a student . We’ll explore strength and balance for mobility and longevity in my classes with lots of variations and a few challenges - because, if it doesn’t challenge us, it won’t change us!
Meet Cindy
I come across as the quiet one. I started doing yoga as a way to slow down, and fell in love with the practice immediately. Yoga taught me how to listen to the needs of my own body and how to get out of my own way. I love how being on my yoga mat, whether it be a Slow Flow, Hatha, Yin, or Restorative class allows the opportunity to just BE. I hold certifications of: 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training; Mindfulness Meditation; and Holistic Health Counselor. My motivation as a teacher is to inspire and empower students, regardless of their experience, age, or physical construct. I invite you to truly feel and experience the peacefulness of yoga.
